Aditi, Goddess of Abundance

1. Aditi is the deity of Punarvasu, the Earth Mother, Goddess of abundance.

It is a lucky, very auspicious naksatra.

The Moon, as well as the lagna lord (ruler of the rising sign; the lagna (rising sign) and Jupiter, the 6th and 9th lords, are in Punarvasu. This person inherited a large fortune from his very large family. Punarvasu themes are inheritance, big family, extended family. His grandfather founded a multinational consumer goods company (a Fortune 25 company now)

(not revealing the company to conceal his identity).

9th lord Jupiter signifies the father, fortune or bhagya; inheritance came from the father/paternal side of the family.

2. Aditi is the creatrix; the birthing goddess, mother-protector of all life forms. The native is a philanthropist and has supported numerous charities (his children) his whole life.He does not have children but he is a protector and supporter of the underclasses and underdogs of society.

3. Punar means again and vasu is the light.

“The return of the light”. Also renew, repeat, revitalize, restore, rejuvenate.

Rama Ravana

Lord Rama in battle with Ravana

The first part of his life he was lost, restless, confused and angry. He had several addictions and recounts how dark his consciousness was in spite of the best education and every worldly desire fulfilled. Since lagna and lagna lord Moon are in Punarvasu the darkness is in his mind and intellect like Lord Rama’s long forest exile. A battle like the one Rama had with the vicious demon king, Ravana (ego), took place within him for many years.

Moon, in 12th house of moksha, in dharma pada made him high minded and philosophical but also self righteous, escapist and a conspiracy theorist.

Lagna in moksha pada made him a giver and  spiritual seeker.

The native had a stroke that almost killed him (rebirth, rejuvenate, rehabilitate) that turned his life around. Jupiter is jiva karaka* – 6th lord of disease in the place of the head (lagna) in Punarvasu with sanjivani karaka** Venus and 8th lord of transformation Rahu.

* jiva karaka: significator of Life

** sanjivna karaka: the one who has the knowledge to bring the dead back to life.

4. Punarvasu is the womb of the Mother.

She is the Mother of us all

She is the Mother of us all

The native has a beautiful home, secluded in the woods with no neighbors around him. He spends most of his time there alone studying, meditating, brooding, like a hen hatching her chicks. His chicks are his ideas. He is a brilliant thinker who shares his carefully incubated ideas to anyone who will listen.

About sueannmckean

My search for meaning in life turned serious in my late teens and included a sustained practice with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Transcendental Meditation in 1973 that I practice still today. In 1973 I also became a student of Aikido with Shihan Robert Nadeau Sensei in the Bay area of California, received a black belt (currently 6th dan) and have been teaching Aikido for the next 37 years, mostly at Bay Area dojos in Los Gatos, San Francisco, San Jose, Mountain View, Palo Alto and colleges : Hayward and San Jose State Universities, Sofia University, Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP) and De Anza College. I had a 6 year career as an international bodybuilder, was a finalist in the pro- world championships 3 times and in the IFBB Ms Olympia in 1986 & 87. I was introduced to the Enneagram in 1978 and became a certified teacher in the narrative tradition with Helen Palmer and David Daniels in 1993. I integrated the Enneagram with principles of Aikido in my teaching. In 1990 after a pilgrimage to India I reconnected to Vedic wisdom with a focus on Jyotish (Vedic Astrology), a study that really took off when I met my guru, Pundit Sanjay Rath in 2005. Since 2007 I went to the Himalayas yearly to study Jaimini Sutra Upadesa and Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra graduating in 2011 as a Jaimini Scholar from the 5 year Master's Course. For nearly 3 years, from Jan. 2010, I mentored in the Parasara Jyotish program created by Pundit Rath. I am a level 1 & 2 teacher in the AIAC (Ancient Indian Astrology Classes) founded by Chicago based Guru Souvik Dutta. (see the Ayurjyotish course in 2012, the Visesa Lagna course in Jan. 2014 and Panchanga course in Jan. 2015) Teaching what I am learning deepens understanding and joy. Currently I have a Level 1 foundation course going on skype (Sept. 2015 I live in the hills overlooking the San Francisco Bay with my husband Jack Labanauskas, publisher of the Enneagram Monthly, also a practitioner and student of Vedic wisdom.
